VERA™: V-Band Enhanced RFID
Maxentric’s VERA™ technology enables the deployment of unique Radio-Frequency fingerprints in substrate materials like paper, wood, or plastic. With a simple architecture that takes advantage of the unlicensed 60 GHz frequency band, VERA™ tags are lower in cost relative to existing RFID technologies.
VERA™ is also:
- A battery-free passive RFID
- Immune to optical obscurants
- Suitable for harsh environments
- HERO compliant
- EMCON compliant

Example Applications
Luggage Tracking - Replace the barcodes on luggage with VERA™ tags, and there is no longer the need for a person to point-and-scan.
Document Tracking and Authentication - Print sensitive documents on VERA™ paper, and the VERA™ scanner will recognize if it leaves a room. The document can be authenticated later to protect against counterfeiting. Applications include legal and financial documents as well as pharmaceutical drug labels.
Harsh Military Environments - VERA™ tags do not have integrated circuit components, so they are less likely to be physically damaged (bent, compressed, mechanically deformed, etc.) or electrically damaged from, for example, static discharge.
